What is a Domain? Domain is just another word for the main web address of your website (www.yourfarm.com). You need to register your web site’s domain before you can use it.

In order for your new website to be published online, it must first have a domain registered.

Let’s say you want your web address to be www.misty-meadow.com. You will need to make sure no one else is using that web address and then register it so you’ll be able to use it.

You can usually register a .com domain for a period of one, two, five or ten years. We recommend buying it for as long as possible, as there can be a discount on the amount you’d pay yearly. Plus there may be some advantage to showing intended long-term ownership when it comes to how the search engines view your site.
